Albro Lake
Albro Lake is one of Halifax Regional Municipality's most popular urban fishing destinations, regularly stocked with both Brook Trout and Rainbow Trout. Easy to access and located in the heart of Dartmouth, it's an ideal spot for families, beginner anglers, and visitors looking to enjoy a few hours on the water without venturing far from city amenities. A lengthy, accessible shoreline provides plenty of room for casting, and the lake is also a favourite winter destination for ice fishing. Please note that motorized boats are not permitted on the lake. Convenient parking is available nearby.
Beyond fishing, the area offers plenty to explore. Albro Lake Beach features a playground and swimming area during the summer months, while nearby Shubie Park offers scenic walking and cycling trails, historic canal features, beaches, and opportunities to enjoy Dartmouth's famous "City of Lakes" landscape. Visitors are also just minutes from Mic Mac Mall, local restaurants, and other Dartmouth attractions, making Albro Lake a great stop for anglers looking to combine fishing with a family outing or a day of sightseeing.
