Annapolis River Causeway is a popular destination for anglers and outdoor enthusiasts visiting the Annapolis Valley. Located along the scenic Annapolis River near Annapolis Royal, the site offers easy access to the water with a boat launch, floating docks, and shoreline fishing opportunities.

The Annapolis River is well known for species such as Striped Bass and American Shad, attracting recreational anglers throughout the season. Visitors can fish from shore, launch a boat or kayak, and enjoy beautiful views of the river and surrounding valley landscape. Picnic areas, viewing benches, and nearby historic attractions make the causeway a great stop for both fishing and sightseeing

Easy Access Area

Nova Scotia Department of Fisheries and Aquaculture is committed to promoting easy-access sportfishing opportunities across Nova Scotia.  Accessible needs vary from person to person, so we provide details about selected site features, along with photos, to help visitors determine whether a location will meet their individual needs.  If you have questions about a site or would like more information, please contact us at inland@novascotia.ca

  • A large site identification sign and civic number is provided at the parking lot and includes the site name.
  • Accessible parking spaces are dispersed at both ends of the parking lot.
  • Convenient paths of travel are provided throughout the site and connect accessible parking to the amenities
    and features on site. (paths are narrow 1000-1900mm)
  • Paths are compact gravel and crusher dust
  • A long floating dock with boat slips is present at the Annapolis River Causeway Park. The dock is used for fishing and boating.
  • The dock does not include edge protection or railing.
  • The running slope of the gangway is 9-9.6% (roughly around low tide) which may be too steep for some users. (please check the tides)
  • The boat launch ramp is easy to access on site. The layout of the site allows for easy access to the boat launch ramp, parking is located close to the boat launch ramp, and the launch ramp does not require users to cross a public road. (no accessible parking near boat launch)
  • No accessible washroom on site.
  • One rest area is present on the deck landing at the top of the gangway down to the fishing platform.
